Hempcrete research at UCL

Our in-situ research at Hempstore is being undertaken alongside a more lab-based hempcrete project, led by Max Dewdney at The Bartlett UCL, with Dr Valentina Marincioni and Dr Virginia Gori at BSEER and Tom Davies at B-made.  Alex Sparrow at UK Hempcrete led the workshop at ‘Here East’ - four panels were made using various combinations of cast hempcrete and hempcrete blocks, one of which is based on the proposed construction for New Model Barn at Waltham Place Farm.  They are being tested for thermophysical and hygrothermal performance in an environmental chamber that simulates the boundary between interior and exterior atmospheric conditions.
