It is great to have Phoenix House - which currently features in the RIBA’s exhibition Long Life, Low Energy: Designing for a Circular Economy - covered in the FT’s House & Home supplement today. Described as an ’ambitious net-zero residential project’, it embodies the practice’s guiding principle of “form follows life cycle”. The article is a showcase for how ‘imperfect restorations use less carbon and reduce the need for new materials‘ whilst also acknowledging the challenges faced as currently ‘in the UK, the tax system is stacked against refits’.
