50 + 51 MARYLEBONE
HIGH STREET : LONDON W1

New build mixed use development
in the Harley Street Conservation
Area. The scheme included the
full demolition of no.51 Marylebone
High Street and the retention of
the front façade only on no.50.

It was a hard fought consent which
was largely won with the backing
of English Heritage who supported
the demolition based on the quality
of the proposed replacement.

This project is now used by
Westminster City Council to
illustrate 'best practice’ in
terms of contemporary design
within a Conservation Area.

Client: The Howard de Walden Estate
