They were in a poor state of repair with an unsightly modern extension in Fletton brickwork to the rear. The main buildings are Victorian and there was evidence that the upper floors were once residential.

The brief from our client. 'Westbeach' was to refurbish and extend the retail units and create the maximum number of residential units above through a mix of refurbishment, extension and new-build.

The resultant scheme was two
retail units at ground floor and
basement with 11 residential apartments over, including a
new penthouse roof apartment
at fourth floor.
