Dedworth Medical Centre
Windsor

No. 1A was a semi-detached,
former light industrial building
on two storeys with a single
storey lean-to along the
northern elevation.

The scheme involved the
refurbishment of the existing
two storey building, utilising
the existing structure, to create
a contemporary medical centre.

The scheme also included the demolition of the single storey
lean to and its replacement with
two new build brick pavilions.
A courtyard is carved out of the
plan between these two pavilions.

The front façade is designed as a series of discrete building elements with large areas of glazing to denote the entrance to the surgery and the pharmacy. A splayed spine wall divides the new two storey building from the existing and guides patients into the double height entrance foyer.
